Cub Scouts is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through 5th grade. Joining is done online through Scouting America and takes about 15 minutes.

3. Pay the pack
$190 for the year, paid directly to Pack 102 in two parts (details below).
4. Get ready
We'll welcome you by email, place your scout in their den, and help you get a uniform and handbook.
Registration: $190 per scout for the year. This covers your scout's membership with Scouting America and Minsi Trails Council. Pay it directly to Pack 102 in two parts:

Not included in registration
Uniform: the Cub Scout uniform shirt, the neckerchief (scarf) for your scout's rank, and a neckerchief slide (the metal ring that holds the scarf). Each rank has its own neckerchief color.
Handbook: each rank has its own handbook.
Some outings: family days sometimes have a ticket price, like $15 per person for Pumpkin Fest. We always list costs on the calendar ahead of time.
Worried about cost? Please talk to us privately. Help may be available, and we never want cost to keep a child out of scouting.

Yes. A parent or guardian stays for every Pack 102 meeting. Many parents end up helping, and it's a great way to share the adventure with your scout.
Two one-hour meetings a month, plus one family outing. Scouts also do some adventures at home with their family.
Absolutely. Campouts are optional and beginner-friendly, and we'll help you with gear and know-how.

Every rank asks the scout and parent to go through How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide together. It's a short, age-appropriate conversation about personal safety, and it's part of Scouting America's commitment to keeping kids safe.
